11: End of the Blog

Welcome All, and Welcome Myself,
Today is going to be the last day of the blog posts. After today I will only post a few assignments. This means no more reflections nor predictions.

With school coming up to finals week, my research has already ended, and there will be next to nothing I would be able to post. I already noticed in the last few posts that the amount of content was slowly declining. Sooner or later, an entire post will just be a few sentences and personally I would rather end the blog before that happens.

Last Reflection
The weeks leading up to this have been close, but never exact to my predictions. As I got better with PT, the training got less tiring, and with less work to do, I often found myself with a lot of a free time. Nothing much will change in the upcoming weeks, but it's always good to reflect upon the past every once in a while.

Last Prediction
After this blog post, I will no longer need to blog every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday/Sunday. This will give me even more free time for nothingness. I'd hate to be so blunt but teachers are assigning less and less work and although it's not a bad thing, it leaves so much time for everyone that they would not previously have. As I write this, I honestly don't know what else to put as nothing interesting is scheduled to happen in the next month.

06: Research [Conclusion]

Welcome All, and Welcome Myself,
As the finals week comes ever so nearer, my research must end. The due date for the research topic and paper is due Tuesday, so this will be the last research day. Here I will talk about how I want my paper structured, like an outline.

·         Introduction
o   Open with rhetorical questions
§  Think back to high school, or even middle school, remember your least favorite subject.
§  Why should we have to take those exact courses in college?
o   Transition into first paragraph

·         Democracy VS Communism
o   Describe Democracy
o   Show key points in Communism and connect with the audience.
o   Compare how Democracy does nothing for us in terms of personal experiences.

·         College in terms of Communism
o   Open with a comparison to communism.
o   Talk about school systems and their hierarchy.
o   Relate school systems to College
o   Explain College’s “Well Rounded” Approach
§  Give a beneficial fix either here or in conclusion
o   Give an example of issues in Savannah State University with the above point.
o   Talk about Majors and what we will do after college.
§  Mention that everyone in your major is the same regardless of classes.

·         Real World Jobs and Applications affected by Communism in Schools
o   Talk Briefly about Qualifications and then go right into payment
o   Compare Communism to a normal employment.
o   Counter argue Democracy and “Freedom”
o   Explain why Communism seems more apparent in our lives.

·         Conclusion
o   Open lastly with the thought about the least favorite subject again.
o   Talk about what United States needs to do.
o   Give us more of a choice in our experience.
o   End with a rhetorical question

§  “If you were in power and had the opportunity to change any aspect of college, what would you do?”

04: Games and Such

Welcome All, and Welcome Myself,
Today is Tuesday, and with the school year coming to a close there are only a few predictions left, so lets get right into it shall we?

Monday
It wasn't as bad as it could've been Monday. We had a 2-mile run and short-card for PT and then I was able to get a lot done with my courses. I took two tests in Pre-Cal and Intro to Naval, and then reviewed our requirements for the presentations in my other classes. Pretty easy day.

Wednesday
Today we will have a 5-mile interval run. That is always so inviting, but alas necessary. Afterwards I have review of previous tests and presentations to sit through for most of my classes. There's not much I can say about Wednesday.

Thursday
Welcome to new uniforms! As stated in previous reflections, we at NROTC were issued new uniforms for the dress and summer apparel respectively. This week we will be having a Service Dress Blues (STB) Inspection. The STBs are usually comfortable so I cannot wait for that. Otherwise Thursday is like Tuesday in which I have time allocated for blog posts and research, so stay tuned for those.

Friday
Finally the official week ends on Friday. I am currently unsure about the type of Physical Exercise they have planned but for NROTC we have a special guest coming to see us. This will get me out of my Intro to Naval course, although I don't mind that one. Afterwards I have a presentation to attend and talk about in Psych and finally ending the day off with another presentation to sit through in Critical Thinking. So much work to be done on such a relaxing day.

Saturday
Saturday is like most of the other weekends in NROTC. Today there will be a basketball game along with a football game that we have to work. As of this moment I have no word on whether I will be working either one, but I assume I will. After Saturday, Its all relaxation from there.

04: Family Issues

Welcome All, and Welcome Myself,

Note: This post actually didn't publish the first time. It was suppose to publish on 02, but didn't.
Its Sunday! Another reflection is on its way, but first let me talk to you all about issues involving the family. Sooner or later your family will have a big crisis, and before you say, "This will never happen to my family, we are perfect," it will. Recently my family has been going through troubles with my little sister and finally over the weekend it caused a fight to break out between my parents. Thankfully its all resolved but that doesn't help to make me wonder if this could happen again... I wanted to say that no matter what your family is going through, it should not effect your studies.

Back to the Reflection!
My predictions from last Tuesday were pretty spot on. I felt like a pool of pudding after Friday, but it wasn't all that bad. Like I stated Tuesday, the paperwork is beginning to die off as we are getting closer to the final weeks of school. I'm glad personally, but I cant help but to wish I could do a paper instead of a million speeches.

= Grades / Classes =
My grades have been staying steady at A's and high B's. The last time I was given my GPA was during midterms and it was a 3.6. I'm sure if I haven't passed that, then I will soon enough. The classes are a different story however. With it getting down to finals week, all of the teachers are assigning presentations and group projects that are frankly unnecessary. It all seems worthless to me whether or not someone can speak in a crowded room, and why punish those who already can?

= Friends =
My friends have become less apparent over the last few days. With everyone preparing their presentations and speeches, there's little time for socializing. Most of the time people just want to relax after they get done, not go out and party and feel like crap the next day.

= School Events =
The school went all out for Halloween with costumes and decorations and candy, but I am one of those who don't celebrate Halloween, so it was just interesting to see everyone's homemade costumes.

= NROTC =
NROTC is NROTC. Nothing changes with this program except the fact that we were issued more uniforms. Unfortunately if I'm not complaining about the Physical Training, then there's not much I can put in this section.
